2026年6月29日、私たちは法廷においてGoogleとの和解協議に臨みました。この協議はGoogle側の希望によって設定されたものです。しかし協議の場でGoogleは、いかなる約束も行わないとの姿勢を示しました。

私たちは「最低限、法律を遵守するという内容であっても、和解条項として約束しないのか」と問い質しました。するとGoogleは、日本の法廷で裁判官を前にしながら、「法律を守ることすら約束しない」と明言しました。さらに、「法律を守ることを検討するという内容ならGoogle側も検討できるかもしれない」と言われました。顧問弁護団によれば、Googleが裁判官の命令に従わない事態が日常的に起こっており、激怒した裁判官もいるそうです。

これらの発言を受け、私たちは和解の可能性はないと判断しました。今後は速やかに判決の言い渡しを求めてまいります。

Settlement Negotiations with Google

On June 29, 2026, we attended a court‑facilitated settlement conference with Google. This conference was arranged at Google’s request. However, during the discussion, Google stated that it would not commit to anything whatsoever.

We asked, “Are you saying that you will not agree even to a settlement clause that simply requires compliance with the law?” In response, Google declared—openly, in a Japanese courtroom and before the judge—that it would not promise to comply with the law. Furthermore, we were told that “if the proposal is simply about considering compliance with the law, Google might also be willing to consider it.” According to the plaintiffs’ legal counsel, Google’s failure to comply with judges’ orders has been happening on a regular basis, and it is said that some judges have become furious as a result.

In light of these statements, we concluded that a settlement was impossible. We will now promptly seek a judicial ruling.
